Classical Art Education

Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go together. (John Ruskin)

Lincoln Park Academy of Art, a historical and rich artistic tradition...

Lincoln Park is a culturally and historically rich artistic community. It was home to acclaimed "Harlem Renaissance" literary artist Zora Neale Hurston (author of "Their Eyes Were Watching God") as well as The Florida Highwaymen, a group of 26 African American artists from Fort Pierce who created idyllic, colorful images of Florida landscapes. These artists were prolific painters and sold an estimated 200,000 paintings from the trunks of their cars on various Florida highways
(thus receiving the name “The Highwaymen").

Inducted into the Florida Artist Hall of Fame in 2004, these important regional painters are recognized as an important part of American folk history. Many of them attended Lincoln Park Academy where Zanobia Bracy Jefferson, as the art instructor was herself an integral part of the Highwaymen art movement.

Today we carry the torch of excellent art education ever forward into the future supporting young artists with the formal instruction they need to achieve their artistic goals.
